MonaVie Hits Inc. Magazine Top 500 List: 1st in Food and Beverage, No. 3 in Revenue

Inc. magazine announced its 28th annual Inc. 500 ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States. With over 27 million businesses registered in the United States, the Inc. 500 list represents the top-tier businesses in America today. MonaVie topped the charts, reigning in at No. 1 in the Inc. 500 Food & Beverage category, No. 3 in Revenue, and No. 18 on the overall Inc. 500 list.

"This achievement puts MonaVie in rarified company," says Jane Berentson, Editor of Inc. magazine. "The elite group MonaVie recently joined has, over the years, included companies such as Microsoft, Timberland, Intuit, Jamba Juice, Oracle, and Under Armour."

The Inc. 500 list will appear in the September edition of Inc. magazine, along with a special interview with MonaVie Founder, Chairman, and CEO, Dallin A. Larsen.

"When Henry Marsh, Randy Larsen, and I sat down at a kitchen table back in 2004 and literally dreamed up MonaVie from our hearts and minds, we knew we wanted to create a global business with a spirit of abundance and giving back," says MonaVie Founder, Chairman, and CEO Dallin A. Larsen. "Being named to this list—and ranking number one in our Food and Beverage Category—is a testament to dreaming big and working hard. In a short four and a half years, we have built a company that has generated what is quickly approaching $2 billion in cumulative sales. We are now perfectly positioned to expand around the world as well as throughout the United States. Considering that many other successful direct selling companies are thirty and forty years old and older, reminds me that at MonaVie, we are still in the infancy stage of our business. I believe our momentum will continue for the next several decades."

About the Inc. 500/5000 list
The 2009 Inc. 500/5000 list measures revenue growth from 2005 through 2008. To qualify, companies must have been founded, and must be generating revenue, by the first week of 2005, and be U.S.-based, privately held, and independent—not subsidiaries or divisions of other companies. The companies of the Inc. 500 represent the top tier of the Inc. 5000, which can be found on Inc.com.

Global Expansion and Pre-Market Activity

We are thrilled with the enthusiasm and interest displayed by many of you and your prospective distributors across the globe as MonaVie seeks to provide each of you with additional international opportunities.

MonaVie invests significant time and resources to prepare for market openings, and we encourage you as leaders to foster enthusiasm for future opportunities in accordance with our pre-market guidelines. Violating MonaVie's pre-market policy places the company and the very opportunity we are trying to secure at risk.

Pre-Market Policies: Please Inform Your Organization

". . . Each MonaVie distributor must understand that attempts to circumvent this authorized method for pre-market enrollment of distributors will be subject to appropriate disciplinary action, including likely removal from the tree of those who have been placed there in an unauthorized way (i.e., fabricated addresses, National ID Numbers), thus requiring re-enrollment at the bottom of the tree. Our desire is to create fair and equitable enrollment opportunities for all distributors when new markets are announced and enrollment opportunities are authorized." (March 24, 2009 communication to all distributors.)

As a reminder and from our own Policies and Procedures, paragraph 4.13.4:

"You may not engage in any business activity in an unopened country unless we make a general announcement to all qualifying Distributors. Such general announcement will specify the limited business activities permissible in the unopened market, including the date when premarket activity may commence and the scope of the pre-market activity. Non-compliance with covenants of this subsection or the limitations set forth in the general announcements may result in termination of the Agreement."

Fostering Enthusiasm, Reducing Risk

As a company, we seek not to stymie the healthy side of authorized pre-market preparations, such as the early building of relationships and generating excitement about a future opportunity. But shipping unregistered/unapproved product or enrolling with a fictitious national ID numbers and/or nonresident mailing or shipping addresses is putting the company and the opportunity at risk.

Recently, this illegal behavior has become such an issue that, in an effort to protect the reputation and best interests of the company and its valued distributor base, we have had to fine, suspend, and even terminate such leaders who are working against our policies.

Please help us to properly represent our international growth plans and manage realistic expectations by communicating what has been authorized by our International Development organization regarding expected country openings for 2009 and 2010.

Authorized Pre-Market Activity

  1. Malaysia: no advertising; small meetings with limited attendance, but no open meetings; no sale or distribution of product
  2. Netherlands, UK and Poland: no advertising; pre-enrollment; small meetings with limited attendance, but no open meetings; no sale or distribution of product
  3. Korea: no advertising, no meetings, no sale or distribution of products
  4. Other countries: no activity whatsoever has been authorized

Resources Available for New Markets

Know that MonaVie Founder, Chairman, and CEO Dallin A. Larsen along with the executive management team determine where, when, and how we will open future markets. Please know that we must balance available resources in efforts to develop and grow markets we have already entered.

Thank you for all you do and will do to help us manage this issue. What a thrill it is to be a part of a company that is recognized across the globe for its business ethics, products, and generous business opportunities. Let's join together to preserve all that is good about MonaVie as we change lives for good across the globe.

In Summary

We request that you do the following:

  • Fully endorse and comply with MonaVie's pre-market policies and procedures and expect similar compliance among those you lead.
  • Invest time, resources, and interest in markets which are already open. There are huge opportunities in these markets and we need your help in establishing and developing field leadership.
  • Introduce MonaVie to those in opened/established markets who have ethnic roots or other connections in future markets and help them build excitement in anticipation of announced future market openings.
  • Remind those who are violating our pre-market policies and procedures that they are running the risk of losing their distributorship and that you cannot condone or support such activity.

"If you want to know which companies are going to change the world, look at the Inc. 500. These are the most dynamic, fast-growth companies in the nation, the ones finding innovative solutions to problems, creating smart systems, and inventing products we soon discover we can't live without."
—Jane Berentson, Editor, Inc. Magazine

Dear MonaVie,

With the current national recognition from Inc. 500/5000, I don't believe there has ever been a direct selling company in this industry's 100-year history who has had better exposure, and whose distributors have been given a greater opportunity to expand their businesses than what we've just received through this Inc 500 ranking. We are a company that is changing the world, one bottle and one relationship at a time, and we're just getting started!

After only four short years, to be recognized as No. 1 in our category of Food & Beverage, No. 3 in total revenue during 2008, and No. 18 overall is huge news for MonaVie and for you. Just think, with the hundreds of thousands of companies that have been launched since 2005, only two companies—an electronics company and a real estate company—generated more revenue than MonaVie in 2008. Now that's EXCEPTIONAL! And we credit you—the greatest distributors in the history of direct selling—for this company's success. Thank you for being exceptional in the way you conduct your MonaVie business.

To give you a glimpse into the impact of the Inc. 500/5000, many of the most significant and successful brands in American business history have made their debut on the Inc. 500/5000 list. When Microsoft first hit the list in 1984, they placed at No. 80. In 2008, they created $60 billion in revenue. Gap stores debuted on the list in 1996 with a ranking of 469. Today, what began as one retail store in urban San Francisco sets the standard for relaxed, American-style clothing throughout the world.

My best advice to you is to get the word out to everyone you know about our Inc. 500 ranking. Send people to www.monaviemediacenter.com so they can see more clearly why they should join with us as we continue from success to significance.

The September issue of Inc. magazine is now available on newsstands and in bookstores. We'll also be creating a custom reprint edition of the piece (which includes the Inc. magazine cover; the article on MonaVie; our official ranking; and a personal letter from me, inviting your prospects to join us on this amazing journey) for you to use in building your business. Stay tuned to the monaviemediacenter.com website for more details on availability.

This is Dallin Larsen—founder, chairman and CEO of MonaVie—and I want you to know that I'm all in! Are you all in? I believe that MonaVie is destined to become a $20 billion company in the next 20 years. I believe that MonaVie's commitment to preserving the rainforest has—and will continue to have—a profound effect upon the environment for generations to come. I believe that reaching out to the children and families of Brazil, through our MORE Project, will change and save lives. I believe that MonaVie is a company for our time, a company for all time, and a company that can—and will—change the world. Thank you for joining and, more importantly, growing with us on this wonderful journey!

From Success to Significance,

Dallin A. Larsen

Dear MonaVie,

Forty years ago today, astronauts from America landed on the moon. It was an accomplishment hailed around the world and a breakthrough that many suggest has yet to be matched. I was only 10 years old at the time, but I can still remember watching it all unfold on our old black and white television in Rexburg, Idaho. Can you imagine the vision and leadership that went into that great adventure, as well as the planning and attention to detail? Every possible scenario had to be well thought out and rehearsed over and over.

My message to you today is that like the astronauts did 40 years ago, exercise great vision and leadership. Be willing to step outside of your comfort zone. Only in doing so will the greatest discoveries of your life ever come to fruition. I challenge you to be brave, courageous, and bold. And although you won't be landing on the moon, by building to Triple Crowne in MonaVie, you too can venture into outer space. Wow, what a company! MonaVie—a company that takes you in, around, and out of this world.

Today, I salute the astronauts that taught us once again that with vision and leadership, all things are possible to those who simply believe!

On to 20 billion!

July 7, 2009

I've been a golfer (hacker) for almost 40 years and have never hit a hole-in-one. I'm golfing with Frank Soucinek over the 4th of July weekend, and he calmly steps up to the tee with his trusty 7 iron and knocks in a hole-in-one (his ninth ever and his second one in the last 16 days)! Where's the justice in that? Are you kidding me! Forty years of playing and ZERO holes-in-one for me. Here's the reason: I think Frank has put in his 10,000 hours on the golf course and I haven't. Plus, he has a bit more God-given talent than I do. ? The message? Keep putting in the time until you reach and surpass 10,000 hours in your MonaVie business, and you'll be achieving things even greater than a hole-in-one! You'll be creating freedom for yourself and your family. On Independence Day, I was reminded again that every day is Independence Day for those of us building MonaVie. We've declared our Independence. We're putting in the 10,000 hours so that we can realize the great freedom of being able to spend our time however we want. Keep believing my friends!

In a few days, we're going to officially launch MonaVie in Mexico. I am so excited about this event. I'll attempt to send a quick video from Mexico, and you can watch the Grand Opening live at www.monavieonthemove.com or by going to www.monavietv.com.

Hey, have you seen the new MonaVie EMV website? Go to www.monavie-emv.com. It is very cool!

Have a great day, and Frank, call me when you get your 10th hole-in-one!

July 1, 2009

Welcome to my blog, MonaVie family! I'll attempt to put short messages up here every week at least, to let you know what's happening in our world. Today my daughter, Maddie, turns 19 so I'm headed out to get her a birthday cake! She's such an awesome young lady. She went down to Brazil earlier this year for 6 weeks, something I'm hoping your kids can do in the near future. It's been life changing for her. Maddie, I love you!!!

We're heading to Nantucket tomorrow for the day, to spend some time on the Yacht trip with Brig and Lita and Steve and Gina. One of the perks in MonaVie is that when you reach Imperial, we'll take you on an exclusive yacht trip. They decided to sail the Northeast, but you can go to Monaco or the Caribbean, or work with Alec Clark, our Recognition expert at MonaVie, and chart your own course for your yacht trip!

Emv is amazing isn't it! Wow, sales are exploding. We're building up the inventory to meet your need.

Stay tuned to www.monavieonthemove.com to see all that's new each day in MonaVie. Be watching for the announcement regarding social networks and how we're now allowing you to grab videos and photos to post on your own websites. Cool stuff.

Finally, I want to reach out to our neighbors to the north and wish you all a happy Canada Day today, and thank you for your diligence in sharing MonaVie.

Okay, love you guys. Keep growing, and we'll see you at a Ruby Fly-In, Diamond Destination, Black Diamond Celebration, and on your yacht trip over the coming months and years!

Be Exceptional!

Black Diamond Celebration

A week-long escape to some of the world's most exotic locations, the Black Diamond Celebration treats Black Diamond-level distributors to world-class accommodations; dining and recreation; and leisure time on exquisite beaches from all over the globe.

2010 Black Diamond Celebration Recap

Watch the 2010 Black Diamond Celebration recap video.
View the photo gallery.

Housed in the unique comfort of Tahitian cabanas hovering over the Pacific, Black Diamond Executives and above spent a relaxing, yet adventurous week traveling the island of Tahiti and enjoying the first-rate activities and amenities of the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora, including snorkeling among stingrays and sharks, jet skiing along the gleaming ocean waters, and enjoying the various seafaring tours offered by the resort.

On 50-foot-long catamarans, distributors sailed through the tropical paradise taking in the warm sunset, then stargazed from a rooftop sundeck. Smaller 2–4 person boats called "barracudas" allowed them to explore the remote motus and beaches that dot the towering islands of Mount Otemanu and Mount Pahia. Kayaking, paddle boarding, and deep-sea fishing provided additional pursuits for guests to spend their leisure time.

In the nearby town of Vaitape, distributors enjoyed the local attractions and ate at the famous Bloody Mary's Restaurant. Vaitape is also where tourists go to shop for indigenous black pearls found in the secluded lagoons around the island.
