MonaVie "Stop Signs"
Imagine how dangerous it would be to travel on the road if we didn't have stop signs. Stop signs are not posted to inconvenience us; rather, they are placed for our own safety. Likewise, compliance requirements serve as MonaVie's "stop signs" to protect the company and its associates. Distributors should make an effort to understand these compliance requirements before they begin any form of business practice.

You can find quick and easy training courses on essential compliance issues, including required certification to create an online presence, at MonaVie University. Visit www.monavieuniversity.com, click on the "Training Courses" tab, and then click on "Compliance."

The MORE Project Niteroi Flood Relief Fund

We are all aware of the floods and mudslides that have rocked Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the last week. The most recent toll has accounted over 229 people dead and 50,000 without homes. People are being advised to leave their homes immediately, including many of our family and friends located at The MORE Project and surrounding favelas. Those who lost their homes were relocated to public schools, leaving behind their few material possessions. They are in much need of mattresses, bedding, clothes, blankets, towels, diapers, hygiene supplies, water, and, principally, our love and prayers.

The Niteroi Flood Relief Fund has been set up by The MORE Project. Funds will be expedited to those impacted by the flooding.

Please click here to donate to the Niteroi Flood Relief Fund.

The Greater Good

[Direct Selling News] – April 2010 – Beyond the vision of creating a world-class direct selling company, the founders of MonaVie believed that the company should generate abundance in many forms. This meant creating a culture in which giving back was a built-in principle governing the actions of distributors and corporate leaders alike.

In the article "The Greater Good, The Unintentional (Business) Bonus from Cause Marketing," Direct Selling News explores charitable giving initiatives across the industry, noting MonaVie's commitment to The MORE Project as an investment "in the area that has provided them with so much."

To learn more about how The MORE Project and MonaVie are making a difference in the lives of children and families in Brazil, visit www.themoreproject.org.

Hit the Books to Hit the Big Time
Chances are you've probably enjoyed chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream at some point in your life. Nowadays, you can find it in the freezer section of just about any grocery store. But, did you know that chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream didn't exist until 1991?

So, where did it come from? The popular flavor was actually in the developmental process for five years before it came onto the global frozen dessert landscape. The creators of this and many other innovative ice cream flavors most likely didn't imagine that a five-dollar correspondence course in ice cream making from Penn State University would one day result in a monolithic empire. Yet, a year after acing their final exam Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield founded Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream; and, ice cream as we know it has never been the same.

Take a lesson from these humble beginnings: Sometimes the recipe for hitting the big time is simply hitting the books. Take a course at www.monavieuniversity.com.

New Study Gives Insight into Açai*

In a recent preclinical study, açai was shown to have significant health-promoting properties. Açai was one of seven berries that demonstrated an ability to maintain healthy proliferation of esophageal cells and were associated with increased antioxidant capacity in rats. Açai was also one of two berries that significantly influenced levels of a cytokine involved in the immune response. These health-promoting properties were linked to açai's content of proanthocyanidins and anthocyanins, two nutrients found in fruits and vegetables.
