MonaVie Adjusts Scientific Advisory Board, Adds Nutritionist Mark Macdonald
MonaVie is adjusting its Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) to ensure it has the right expertise to support current product development plans and necessary substantiation for research and development. Nutrition and fitness expert Mark Macdonald joins the MonaVie Scientific Advisory Board, while Drs. Michael J. Balick and Danyi Quan rotate off the board. We express our sincere gratitude to Drs. Balick and Quan for their service and expertise lent to the board over the past year.
No stranger to MonaVie, Macdonald has been with the company as its nutrition and fitness expert since 2011, and was influential in helping formulate MonaVie’s RVL and CORE line of products.

Macdonald is a leading authority on nutrition and wellness, and the author of the New York Times bestselling book Body Confidence. As founder of the Venice Nutrition Program—which has been licensed by hundreds of health facilities, doctors’ offices, fitness studios, and health professionals nationwide—Macdonald knows what it takes to lose weight the right way and achieve life-long body confidence. He opened the first Venice Nutrition Consulting center in Venice Beach, California, more than a decade ago, and it has since grown to more than 500 centers throughout the U.S. Macdonald is a regular contributor to CNN/HLN and Dr. Oz, a National Ambassador to the American Diabetes Association, Chair of the International Board of Nutrition and Fitness Coaching, and a top presenter for IDEA, the world’s largest fitness organization.
Macdonald joins current SAB members, Dr. Jun Nishihira, specializing in biochemistry, from Japan, and Dr. Hervé Rogez, a food science expert, from Brazil.
