“When we first got started with MonaVie five years ago, we shared it passionately with everyone and achieved Blue Diamond in short order. But, along the way, we deviated from what had gotten us to where we were and began managing instead of truly building. Though we live in Houston, our family farm is in Kansas. During a recent trip there, I realized this business is just like farming—not raising a house plant or even gardening, but farming.

“You probably have folks in your business who are raising a house plant. They water it, love on it, and may even sing to it; but, on its best day it can produce only one flower. Then, there are the gardeners who might plant a row of tomatoes. They’ll fertilize their garden and weed it, but it can never grow more than a row of tomatoes. And if it doesn't grow, they get mad at the seeds! ‘This farming stuff doesn't work for me. It’s a scam!’ But the productive farmer plants acres and acres of seeds, and he doesn't wait for planting time next year. He no-tills in milo behind the wheat. And, you know where next year's milo seeds come from? This year's milo crop!

“Our tip to anyone wanting to build this business big is to plant acres and acres of seeds. You have the greatest planter in the world—the MonaVie VIEW scanner. But, realize that you can only do two things: 1.) Plant the seeds (scan folks and share the product); and 2.) Provide a fertile environment within which they can grow. MVP and the community of positive people you have on your team is that fertile environment. You can't make people want to do this business.  You can't make people make the sacrifices it takes to be in business, like buying product to share and promotional material to distribute. All you can do is provide a favorable environment. 

“That includes identifying the new person's needs, wants, hopes, and dreams by listening to them. Once you do this, you will be better suited to lead them to the decision to buy a Junior or Senior Executive Kit and get on at least two cases of AutoShip. If they want a big business that continues to move forward without provocation from the distributor, they will embrace the concepts of AutoShip and purchasing sufficient product to share with others.

“Finally, get started NOW! If, before you left your driveway for your summer vacation, you made sure that all the lights were green on your entire trip, you'd never leave the driveway. You'll come to a red light or two or three or more. But with persistent and consistent action, your lights will turn green, and you'll be on your way!”
