Once approaching 400 pounds, Star 1,000 Scott Rilett from Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, is now close to weighing less than 200 pounds with the help of MonaVie RVL. Like many obese people, Scott's battle with weight started when he was a child.
"Being raised in a household where our main food staples were read meat, large portions of potatoes, and very small portions of basic vegetables like corn, carrots, and peas (all of which were smothered in butter), it was hard to learn how and what to eat," Scott says. "Not knowing any better, I continued to eat like this into my teens and early 20s."
Another factor that contributed to Scott's weight gain was his lack of physical activity. A shy kid, Scott mostly kept to myself and preferred to spend his time reading, writing, or playing video games. He admits that he rarely went outside to play with friends or ride bikes, and he wasn't into sports.
"As an overweight child, obviously you can see how I could be made fun of," Scott says. "After all, other children can be cruel. Not wanting to do things because I was overweight coupled with the jokes and tormenting from other kids, my weight continued to build. It became a never-ending cycle until it was out of control."
As he got older, Scott started to become more aware of his potentially deadly situation. His final wakeup call came when his father developed diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and had double bypass heart surgery—all due to issues with weight.
"I knew I needed to change my lifestyle or else I was going to end up just like him," Scott says.
Scott's first foray into weight loss was fad diets. He tried every diet out there—no carbs, all carbs, no protein, all protein. Whatever it was he tried, he could never seem to get any results. Then, he was introduced to MonaVie RVL.
"A longtime friend told me about MonaVie RVL," Scott remembers. "Having tried everything else out there, I was a bit skeptical. But, with a little (ok, more like a lot!) of persuasion, I decided to try it."

Not only has MonaVie helped Scott get his weight back under control, he says it's helping him to lead a more meaningful life because he can now do things he was never able to do before like play with his two nephews without feeling tired or winded. With his new body, he's also enjoying the little things that most people take for granted.
"I flew to Vancouver the other day," Scott says, "and something as simple as being able to fit into an airplane seat is nice. It's things like this that when I look back to how I used to be, it makes me happy that I've changed my life in such a dramatic way.
