A More Meaningful Life: Jodi van den Hoogenhoff Honors Family's Memory through Healthy Living

"Life is an experience. We only have one shot at it, and anything is possible."

These are the words of MonaVie distributor Jodi van den Hoogenhoff. If anyone understands the precious value of fleeting life, it's Jodi. Nearly two decades ago, she lost her sister (and best friend) to breast cancer a mere 15 months following her diagnosis. Ten years later, breast cancer claimed her mother's life as well. In August 2011, her father passed away after a bout with throat cancer; and, three weeks later, another of Jodi's sisters succumbed to her battle with diabetes. Four weeks after laying her sister to rest, Jodi's last remaining sister was diagnosed with fourth-stage ovarian and stomach cancer.

When her first sister died at the young age of 32, Jodi decided to make a change in her life. Passionate about being active and healthy since she was a young girl, Jodi grew up playing basketball, softball, running track, and cheerleading. In high school, she would have to abandon her active lifestyle for the workforce. She held several jobs working at fast food restaurants while going to school, which gave her little or no time to continue her passion of staying physically fit. When she was 19 years old, she had her first child and became a stay-at-home mom.

"I found myself living life like most people do—having no energy, gaining weight, and just not feeling good," Jodi says.

When the time was right, Jodi went back to work. A friend suggested that she work at an all-women's health club, and it was there that Jodi regained her enthusiasm for fitness.

"I ended up managing those clubs for many years," she says. "I changed my eating habits and lifestyle and never looked back. I started working out five to six days a week, stopped eating red meat, and ate a lot of greens."

As her love for the gym grew, so did her knowledge of living healthily. She became moved to start making a difference in the lives of women as well.

"My determination to not get sick has allowed me to find solutions to fight those issues for me and others," Jodi says. "I want to help others reach their goals and educate them on how to make healthy changes. My goal is to inspire people to improve through nutrition and exercise."

Her motivation, commitment, and belief have driven her to where she is today, which is a physical specimen to behold by any standard. Even at her current physique, Jodi remains on the lookout for ways to bring even greater nutrition into her life. Enter MonaVie RVL.

MonaVie RVL had been in Jodi's pantry for months before she decided to give it a try. Her husband had been enjoying the products, but Jodi was reluctant since she had never incorporated a meal replacement or dietary supplements into her regimen. She figured that her protein shakes, daily exercise, and healthy eating habits were getting the job done well enough. That view would soon change.

"When I saw the incredible weight loss my friend experienced with RVL, my eyes were wide open," Jodi says. "I wanted to lose an extra five pounds in my waist and hips. Being a woman in my 40s, it seemed a bit more difficult to lose that last bit of weight. I decided to try RVL, and every bit of excess lumps, bumps, and fat in my waist area was completely gone. I never changed my exercise routine; the results were strictly from RVL!"

Jodi says now she is in love with the product and consumes the shakes, dietary supplements, and snack bars every day. The excitement it's brought to her business is an added bonus, as she believes MonaVie RVL will help build her organization while blessing the lives of those who use the product. As for her own life, Jodi says the journey to here has taught her so much and has brought about an enormous amount of personal growth.

"The spiritual and emotional journey I have experienced has been incredible," Jodi says. "I've realized that doubting yourself and having no confidence can be gone forever through commitment and belief, and I will not waste another minute doubting myself. I will continue to live my life doing what I am so passionate about."

After all, life is an experience that we only have one shot at.

Jodi's MonaVie RVL Routine

She loves that it's quick and easy and that she doesn't have to worry about what healthy lunch she'll have on a given day; but, most importantly, it keeps her satisfied and gets results. And, that's why she'll continue sharing it with others. In addition to drinking at least one gallon of water a day, here's what Jodi's daily routine looks like:

Cruise for Gold Qualifiers—Shannon and Whitney Kwok

Congratulations to Shannon and Whitney Kwok from Yorba Linda, California, on qualifying for the Cruise for Gold trip! Here's what they had to say about qualifying for the cruise…

"We were approached by our friends Jan and Raelene Hayball (Emerald Executives). We had some prior experience with networking, but we were looking for a better fit for our lifestyle and financial goals. We were also looking for an opportunity that would benefit those that were close to us. Once we tried the product and went to a corporate event, we were hooked!

"The products are in a class by themselves. And, the opportunity keeps getting better (i.e., RVL, 1, 2 Free!, MonaVie Perks, MVP). Since we've been in MonaVie, we've been approached by many leaders from other companies. Some claimed to have a better product. Some claimed to have better compensation. Some claimed to have a better leadership team. And, some claimed to have better timing for what they were marketing. None had a cause, and none had all five!

"We've both worked for the government (Whitney as a police officer and Shannon as a public school teacher). Whitney has also been successful in corporate America. However, none of these career paths have brought our family together to share common goals. And, none of these career paths have surrounded us with the quality of people this business has. Our children enjoy the products, and they are our best cheerleaders! They are intent on going to Hawaii in 2012!

"It's nice to have our hard work, consistency, and sacrifice pay off. Having our kids watch mom and dad work together is very important to us. Most kids watch their parents live half their lives in different worlds. It's also shown our kids that this business has rewards and recognition.

"We are always focused on leading, not managing, our organization. This means sharing the product and opportunity more often and more consistently than anyone else in our group. We were taught not to worry what our group is or isn't doing, but to worry about what we're doing. To us, this means a lot of activity, growing personally, and having fun!

"The biggest blessing of Cruise for Gold is that it forced us to be results oriented. We have always had a great work ethic, but being busy and being productive are two different things. We began paying more attention to who we needed to help and what activities produce results. We also focused on the bottom of our personal enrollment tree, and results came quickly!

"Nothing is impossible. When you have a goal that you really want to hit, things become clearer and your mind begins to work in ways it normally wouldn't. In our opinion, the following are the three biggest mistakes people make who don't qualify for a promotional trip make: 1. They don't proactively write down their goal. 2. They don't allow themselves to be accountable to an upline. 3. They don't develop a consistent work ethic to run after it.

"Leadership can be lonely. Ask anyone sharing MonaVie on a consistent basis. Sometimes you end up asking yourself, 'Doesn't anyone else share Dallin's vision to go to $20 billion?' We have a chance to rub shoulders with other like-minded leaders. If it's true that you are who you hang around with, we're anxious to spend a week on a cruise with a bunch of winners!"

Cruise for Gold Qualifiers—Terry, Joni, and Jessica Cox

Congratulations to Terry, Joni, and Jessica Cox from Austin, Texas, on qualifying for the Cruise for Gold trip! Here’s what they had to say about qualifying for the cruise…

“MonaVie became part of our life on February 17, 2011. We were introduced to a new beginning through a journey that has blessed us financially, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Our family has been extended through this company with the most caring, loving, and hardworking people we have ever been around.

“On August 12, we became qualified for the rank of Gold Executive. At this point, we had begun working almost every night going to meetings and having one-on-ones during the day. Giving meetings for our sponsored distributors became an exciting and enjoyable time. Although we felt tired on occasion, we were always having a good time while flipping the chart and making new friends every day.

“This business has allowed us to spend quality time with our old and new friends, time for fellowship that seemed in the past impossible! The more we share this wonderful product and opportunity with others, the more we are blessed. Absorbing the MonaVie leadership by going to major functions and all the Diamond tastings we can manage has rubbed off, and we have now qualified for the Cruise for Gold trip.

“Sharing daily the message of A More Meaningful Life has become second nature and has rewarded our family continuously by the many blessings we have received. Corbin says to do what most won’t, and you will succeed when others will not! It has taken us eight months to learn how to do this business. Keep it simple, be honest and enthusiastic, and let others see how MonaVie has changed your life. If you truly are in MonaVie to help others, MonaVie will help you by blessing you and granting you the opportunity to fulfill all your needs.

“We are looking forward to a relaxing time on the cruise and furthering our education through the whole MonaVie experience. We want to encourage our whole team to strive to achieve their goals and continue to work hard to accomplish all their dreams in MonaVie!

“In Proverbs 6:6, it tells us to go to the ant and consider its ways, and be wise. It has no commander, no overseer or ruler, yet it stores its provisions in summer and gathers its food at harvest. In MonaVie you are your own boss. You own your own business. It will prosper if you sow the seeds and work hard to harvest its crops while being wise and following the proven path laid out for you.

“Thank you, Dallin and the entire MonaVie staff. We appreciate the path you continuously carve out for us. May God bless you for your hard, diligent, and unselfish work.”

Cruise for Gold Qualifier—Ken Hargrove

Congratulations to Ken Hargrove from Austin, Texas, on qualifying for the Cruise for Gold trip! Here's what he had to say about qualifying for the cruise…

"When I experienced the health benefits of MonaVie Active for myself, I was not only hooked but excited to share the products with others. MonaVie creates state-of-the-art products that do what they are intended to do, which allows distributors to share with confidence.

"I am just one person in a very well organized and incredible system. My sponsors, Doug and Pattie McGuinn, are just amazing; and, my team is the fastest-growing team in Texas. They are leaders who have come to realize that leaders are readers, and it is paying huge dividends.

"I believe that I will have a worldwide organization that will bless people financially and, more importantly, spiritually and nutritionally. This organization will give me the opportunity to travel all over the world and develop deep and long-lasting friendships. Going on the cruise is just an example. It has been 24 years since my last cruise, and I doubt that I would be taking a cruise in the near future if it were not for this opportunity.

"Do something every day and zero in on your goal. Counsel daily, read daily, help your downline rank advance, attend all functions, and work. There is no secret to it. I qualified for the cruise by increasing my daily activity and focusing on bringing in quality distributors.

"The most important thing a distributor can do for his or her business is to realize you fail your way to success. This business is about working as smart as you can, which means following the proven system and continually asking yourself, 'If I had to do it all over again, what would I do differently?' Sometimes it's nothing; for me, it's, 'Ah…won't do that again!' or 'Should have done that and will do that next time.' It also means understanding the nature of planting seeds and the process that the seeds go through.

"Reach out and meet people at their needs. They have to want it more than their upline wants it for them; but, they have to know that you're willing to do whatever it takes to lock arms and win.

"On the cruise, I'm looking forward to getting some rest, sun (in January!), food, and the opportunity to learn from the best leadership in the industry!"

Cruise for Gold Qualifiers—Tammy and Phil Poulin

More than 100 distributorships have set their sails for success by qualifying for the Cruise for Gold, including Tammy and Phil Poulin. Congratulations to all who have qualified so far. And, to those who haven’t yet: there’s still time! The qualification period ends December 23, so step up to the challenge and join us in the Bahamas!

"Phil and I were introduced to MonaVie almost three years ago by my sister and her husband, Tanya and Dean Pekeski. We had great results from drinking MonaVie Active but never thought to pursue the business opportunity. Four months after feeling the benefits, we started to share it with friends and family.

"Words can't explain what we have experienced in this journey of relational marketing. We have experienced such personal growth and have also seen this in our team. You can't put a price on sharing products that are changing people's health and finances.

"Phil, who owns a traditional business, sees the simplicity in MonaVie of having no overhead, no staff, no inventory, and no headaches! It has been an incredible journey so far. Not only have we reconnected with our longtime friends, we have met some incredible new friends that we will have for a lifetime.

"We will continuously change lives, one person at a time! Dallin Larsen is right: MonaVie is the best company for the world! There is no greater feeling than being able to go on a cruise with your friends and family. Thank you, MonaVie, for this amazing opportunity! Bon voyage!"

New Gold Executives—Leslie and David Faris

Congratulations to Leslie and David Faris from Keller, Texas, on achieving the rank of Gold Executive. Here's what they had to say on reaching this impressive milestone…

"What an amazing opportunity we have been given by MonaVie! Not only are we thrilled to have time to be together on a cruise, we are also very excited to get the opportunity to learn from the best leaders. We also cannot wait to be surrounded by like-minded people who see the vision of becoming healthy and financially free through MonaVie. What a true blessing and amazing gift! Thank you, MonaVie, for allowing us this opportunity!

"Believe it or not, October 15, 2011, was our first tasting party. That week ignited a fire under us that had long been burned out. With a lot of effort, passion, drive, and love for the product, we made it to Gold Executive. With a little effort and determination, you too can do this!

"We have heard over and over how busy everyone is, and believe us when we say we are no stranger to busy. David is a pilot whose job takes him away from home 3–4 days per week. I am a psychologist with a full-time practice. We have three young boys going in three different directions, 100 miles per hour. We know busy! It seems to us that if 'busy' is the excuse, then it is the perfect reason to become a distributor! With financial freedom comes time. We all want to have more quality time with those we love. Don't let 'I'm too busy' be your excuse; make it your reason!

"We look forward to pressing ahead to the next goal, and we want to take those we care about and love with us. We have amazing upline support, and we have to say Byron Moles is absolutely incredible! He is so very inspirational, motivational, and supportive. He really is the reason we are in this spot. Tom Faris is also just plain great! He gave us that push to get started, even after listening to every excuse I could throw at him. We have been blessed with amazing people on our team, upline and downline, and we are committed to helping everyone succeed!

"It is also fun to have friends to do this with. Marydawn Hatch (soon to be Gold) and I went to high school together many years ago and are now working together daily to grow our team. We share our joys, victories, and struggles on a daily basis; and, at the end of the day, we laugh together and keep each other motivated. Every morning we wake up and ask each other, 'Whose life are you going to help change for the better today?' Having great friends to share this journey with makes it all worthwhile.

"We are so very excited about this amazing product, sharing it with others, and watching their lives improve. What a tremendous gift!"

Update: Top Two California State Champion Gymnasts Excel with MonaVie

Last month, we learned about Averi Doktorczyk's gymnastics dreams. We are very pleased to report that Averi finished second all around with a new personal-best score of 38.325 at the 2011 California State Championships, in San Diego, November 19–20.

"God has no doubt blessed Averi with talent," Averi's mother, Jolene Doktorczyk says, "But more importantly, he has blessed her with work ethic, perseverance and a joy in recognizing excellence in others. It is with tremendous pride and honor that our family says, 'We are MonaVie!'"

We're also thrilled to announce that joining Averi on the winner's podium was No. 1 Overall Champion Margaret Kwok, whose parents are Ruby Executives Shannon and Whitney Kwok. Margaret, who trains at Kips Gymnastics in Anaheim Hills, California, earned the highest score out of a total of 804 competitors. Her parents attribute much of Margaret's performance, strength, and focus to her nutrition program, which includes MonaVie (M)mūn and MonaVie RVL.

"Margaret's success has come from sacrifices that very few nine year olds—or individuals, for that matter—are willing to make," Whitney said. "She truly has the heart of a champion."

Congratulations, Averi and Margaret!
