Hit the Books to Hit the Big Time
Chances are you've probably enjoyed chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream at some point in your life. Nowadays, you can find it in the freezer section of just about any grocery store. But, did you know that chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream didn't exist until 1991?

So, where did it come from? The popular flavor was actually in the developmental process for five years before it came onto the global frozen dessert landscape. The creators of this and many other innovative ice cream flavors most likely didn't imagine that a five-dollar correspondence course in ice cream making from Penn State University would one day result in a monolithic empire. Yet, a year after acing their final exam Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield founded Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream; and, ice cream as we know it has never been the same.
