February 2009 Ruby Fly-In Recap

MonaVie's newest distributor leaders gathered at the Zermatt Resort & Spa in Midway, Utah, February 4–7, 2009, to spend the week enjoying Utah's winter recreation, including skiing, shopping, and fine dining. The distributors also heard from a variety of corporate representatives at a meeting on Thursday.

Thursday's meeting helped distributors to build confidence in themselves as well as in the corporate team. Barry Phillips, director of training and development, added to that overall feeling of confidence by announcing forthcoming courses in MonaVie University.

An online learning tool delivering in-depth training to help distributors become more productive and efficient in running their independent businesses, MonaVie University will soon offer courses to help distributors better understand the Compensation Plan as well as MonaVie products. There will also be a compliance certification program in the future for Ruby level and above distributors. All MonaVie University courses are offered free of charge and can be accessed by logging into your Virtual Office.

Before distributors hit the hills for tubing and dinner at Soldier Hollow Thursday night, Executive Vice President and Cofounder Henry Marsh delivered the final presentation of the day. Henry, a four-time U.S. Olympian in track and field, exhorted the crowd to be passionate about MonaVie. "Passion is the will and desire to sacrifice what you want now in pursuit of a dream or goal you want more," Henry explained. "If you want to be a Black Diamond, you have to have the passion."

Describing his own experiences as an Olympic steeplechase competitor, Henry wondered aloud why so many people in the world never find the greatness in themselves. He suggested that the answer may be that life is simply too comfortable for most people to discover their true purposes in life.

"I hope you wake up every day with a dedication to your purposes in life," Henry said. "Your success in MonaVie will be directly proportionate to the magnitude of your purposes."

MonaVie's next Ruby Fly-In is scheduled for July 15–18, 2009. The deadline to qualify is March 27, 2009.

MonaVie Celebrates Grand Opening in Japan

MonaVie will commemorate its launch in Japan with the biggest grand opening ceremony in company history on Saturday, February 21, 2009!

"There's no doubt in my mind that MonaVie will take Japan by storm like no other company has before," says Tadamasu Shimizu, general manager of MonaVie Japan. "Together, we will develop MonaVie into a company that serves as a beacon to this amazing industry."

Diamond Executives and international distributors are hailing the formal grand opening of Japan as the biggest event since MonaVie launched in 2005. With more than 5,000 distributors and guests expected, the epic ceremony will occur Saturday, February 21, in Yokohama City, Japan.

In addition to its historical significance, Scott Olsen, Black Diamond Executive, said the event will become one of the company's proudest moments. Given Japan's vibrant economy, MonaVie looks to achieve more success and build a solid footing in the country one person at a time.
"People all over the world are looking for an opportunity to fulfill their dreams, and MonaVie opening in Japan is that opportunity," Scott added.

MonaVie's on-the-ground presence in the world's second largest market officially commenced January 19, 2009. Since that time distributors in Japan have enjoyed many benefits, including a brand new office in Tokyo, local pricing, and domestic distribution with discounted shipping costs.

MonaVie Announces New Scientific Advisory Board

MonaVie is pleased to announce the newly formed MonaVie Scientific Advisory Board (MSAB).

Composed of three doctorate-level scientists, the MSAB advises and consults MonaVie on scientific issues concerning the company and its products.

With each member possessing an exceptionally significant level of expertise regarding how foods affect human health, the Board consists of the following individuals: Dr. Penny Kris-Etherton, PhD, RD, professor of nutrition at Pennsylvania State University; Dr. Alexander G. Schauss, PhD, FACN, senior director of natural and medicinal products research, AIBMR Life Sciences; and Dr. Nathan D. Wong, PhD, M.P.H., professor of medicine, School of Medicine, and director of the University of California at Irvine Heart Disease Prevention Program in Preventive Cardiology.

Alfonso Todd Named General Manager of MonaVie Mexico

MonaVie is pleased to announce that Alfonso Todd has been named General Manager of MonaVie Mexico.

Alfonso joins MonaVie with 13 years of industry experience as marketing director and general manager for other notable direct selling companies, such as Betterware, Sunrider International, USANA Health Sciences, and Agel. Alfonso was instrumental in successfully launching some of these companies in Mexico and served as project leader over developments in Argentina, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, as well as Hispanic markets in the United States. Alfonso's expertise also derives from three years' experience as brand manager for various pharmaceutical companies and a two-year tenure as marketing director for a leading global electronics company. He holds a degree in business administration and a master's degree in marketing.
