February 2010 Ruby Fly-In Recap

View the February 2010 Ruby Fly-In photo gallery.

The theme of Thursday's training meeting at the Ruby Fly-In was leadership. The wealth of knowledge on the subject was abundant as several members of the MonaVie corporate team were in attendance to impart their expertise to MonaVie's next generation of leaders.

Black Diamond Executives Encourage and Instruct
Royal Black Diamond Executives Scott and Sue Olsen were the first to address the gathered Rubies. Scott, one of MonaVie's very first distributors, expressed the value of turning vision into action.

"When we started MonaVie five years ago, it was just a vision," he said. "But, a vision isn't enough. You have to become the vision."

Scott and his family nearly went bankrupt in their early days as distributors, and he says this experience taught him the key to facing adversity as you grow your MonaVie business. The trick is to become "a prisoner of hope."

"A prisoner is chained to something," Scott said. "For me and Sue, we got chained to MonaVie. Make the decision today to make MonaVie your home, and I promise you that your life will change forever and so will the lives of hundreds of thousands."

To Be a Great Leader, Be a Great Follower
International Distributor Ambassador Randy Schroeder sustained Joe's message when he likened the distributors' current status as Rubies to being boats in a rising tide. A rising tide, Randy said, only lifts boats that are fully in the water. MonaVie's tide will surely continue to rise, but if the assembled distributors wish to rise along with it, they must continue to advance in ranks by creating leaders within their organizations; however, Randy added that it's easier to build volume than it is to build the leadership needed to support the volume.

That is why he stressed the value of becoming great leaders themselves by learning to become great followers. To do this, Randy issued a challenge to distributors to identify a leader in MonaVie that they would like to emulate, and then follow as closely as possible what that leader has done to attain his or her position.

"I invite you to hold yourself to a very high standard," Randy said.

MonaVie's Pillars of Health
One of MonaVie's most valuable leaders who holds himself and his team to the highest of standards is Vice President of Product Management Jeff Graham, who was at the Ruby Fly-In to talk about MonaVie's growing family of products, including newly released MonaVie (M)m?n.

Depicting the MonaVie products as pillars of joint health, heart health, and healthy energy supported by a solid foundation of antioxidants, Jeff characterized MonaVie (M)m?n as a new pillar of immune health. All of these products together serve to provide consumers with an array of nutrients that has never previously been found in typical American diets.

"The average American only eats three edible plant foods per day out of more than 200,000 available," he said. "And, the typical American diet includes only 20 different foods. By sharing MonaVie, you are helping to bridge the nutritional gap."

Social Media, Preferred Customer Program, Top Retailers Bonus
Chief Blogger Shante Schroeder and Chief Financial Officer Devin Thorpe complemented the day's speakers by arming distributors with information that will help them break through to the next rank on their way to Black Diamond and beyond.

Shante explained that social media outlets including Facebook and Twitter are amazing ways to tap into a seemingly endless customer base online. By being apart of the MonaVie conversation online, you can build meaningful relationships with literally thousands of people at a time. Obviously, social media will never replace the essential personal connection that tasting parties and face-to-face interaction provide; rather, social media is a way to supplement these activities and make additional contacts.

"I encourage you to participate in this community and help build it," Shante said.

Devin Thorpe's presentation helped distributors to understand the value of preferred customers as they strive to advance in rank. It's for this reason that MonaVie has introduced the Preferred Customer Program and the Top Retailers Bonus into the Compensation Plan. Please click on the links provided for more information.

The MORE Project: Donating at a Leadership Level
No MonaVie event is complete without the presence of The MORE Project. In keeping with the theme of the day, The MORE Project Executive Director Katy Holt-Larsen implored everyone to begin donating this year at a leadership level. Some ways to do this include the following:
• Make meaningful personal donations to The MORE Project
• Set up The MORE Project juice bars at your meetings
• Visit The MORE Project in Brazil
• Incorporate The MORE Project into your presentations

"As you step into your leadership roles in MonaVie," Katy began, "step into a leadership role with The MORE Project."

To learn more about the various ways that you can contribute, please visit www.themoreproject.org.

Take it to the Next Level
More than just an opportunity to receive valuable training, the Ruby Fly-In is a time for Ruby Executives to be rewarded for their blossoming businesses. Following Thursday's meeting, the distributors headed to Soldier Hollow Resort to enjoy snow tubing and dinner.

Friday, distributors descended upon Park City, Utah, to ski, snowboard, and shop while others stayed at the Zermatt Resort & Spa for European-style spa treatments. For the distributors in attendance, the Ruby Fly-In was a spectacular introduction to the world of MonaVie incentive trips and surely gave them something to ponder, along with Founder, Chairman, and CEO Dallin A. Larsen's words, as they traveled home.

"I want to thank you for doing what was necessary to get to Ruby," Dallin said. "Now, I want you to know that we're counting on you to take it to the next level."

Dr. Paul Clayton Extols MonaVie (M)mūn at Anaheim Regional Meeting

MonaVie Vice President of Product Management Jeff Graham told distributors at the Anaheim Regional Meeting that MonaVie is only concerned with bringing products to the marketplace that change people's lives. Our newest product, MonaVie (M)mūn, is no exception to that rule.

In his presentation, Dr. Paul Clayton, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, focused on the juice's main ingredient, which is exclusive to MonaVie within direct selling—Wellmune®. He cited several double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies in which Wellmune dramatically improved overall health in the studies' subjects.

"Nothing else compares to Wellmune, and now you have access to it," exclaimed Dr. Clayton.

2010 Anaheim Regional Meeting Recap

View the photo gallery.

MonaVie Founder, Chairman, and CEO Dallin A. Larsen declared 2010 a year of miracles at the Anaheim Regional Meeting, Saturday, January 23. At the spur of the moment, the man at the helm of MonaVie ripped up the day’s agenda and told everyone at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena that he wanted to spend the meeting simply focusing on miracles.

Help for Haiti: Distributors Donate US$64,000

When shredding the meeting’s agenda, Dallin may have known that distributors were also in the mood for miracles, which is something they demonstrated shortly after Dallin revealed that MonaVie has made it possible for distributors to donate to the relief efforts in Haiti straight from the Virtual Office. MonaVie distributors who wish to help those devastated by the tragic earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12, can access their Virtual Offices, and then do the following:

• Click on “Place a Personal Order.”
• Look for “Help for Haiti” at the top of the page.
• Make a donation.

Dallin also invited distributors in attendance in Anaheim to make a donation in lieu of contributions to The MORE Project. Thanks to our generous distributors, MonaVie was able to raise a total of US$64,000 for Haitian relief, exceeding the challenge made by Alyssa Milano to corporations all across the United States. MonaVie has also committed to raising as much as US$100,000 for Haiti relief efforts by week's end. “Where there is devastation and loss, there will be hope and faith,” Dallin declared.

Double Crowne and Crowne Black Diamonds Discuss their Miraculous Journeys

Brig and Lita Hart were honored as MonaVie’s first Double Crowne Black Diamond Executives and were presented with a check for US$2 million as well as keys to a Rolls Royce Phantom.

Recalling how both she and Brig grew up with parents who worked very hard but could provide only enough to get by, Lita explained that she and her husband have not been afraid to work for the things they’ve wanted. “Trust that God has a purpose for your life,” she advised. Brig echoed Lita’s words and promised to help each distributor along the way to achieving their goals. “I’m addicted to seeing people succeed, and I’m passionate about finishing strong,” he said.

Crowne Black Diamond Steve Merritt sat down with Dallin and Karree Larsen and said that the true miracle of his MonaVie journey is attaining his dream of bringing his wife Gina home from work after more than 20 years as a flight attendant. He also spoke about his upbringing in Wisconsin.

Steve left home at the age of 18 to pursue a career in waterskiing. He believed he would become a world champion water skier even as none of his family or friends did. Steve did become a world champion; and, likening the experience to his doubters when he joined MonaVie, he quipped, “I love to beat the odds, and I love helping my friends beat the odds.”

The MORE Project Launches the “Sponsor a Child” Program

One organization certainly doing its part to create miracles in people’s lives is The MORE Project. Katy Holt-Larsen, executive director of The MORE Project, and Sergio Ponce, The MORE Project Brazil director, were on hand in Anaheim to launch the “Sponsor a Child” Program. This new initiative gives distributors the opportunity to build personal relationships with the children being supported by The MORE Project, as well as provide them with schooling, nutritious meals, and dental care. Visit www.themoreproject.org to learn how you can sponsor a child.

Katy also reminded distributors that they can make AutoShip donations to The MORE Project by visiting the Virtual Office and clicking on “I Click for Kids.” Sergio and Katy then brought out from backstage Yonne, a young girl realizing her dreams through The MORE Project. Yonne, who hopes to one day become a professional singer, graced the crowd with a poignantly heartfelt vocal performance.

Sharlie Kaltenbach—Believe in Miracles

Dallin’s niece Sharlie, closed out the Anaheim Regional Meeting with a stirring speech about the people whom she considers miracles in her life—her sister Lexi, her husband Ryan, and her son Harrison.

Sharlie and Lexi have both suffered from cystic fibrosis. Throughout her ongoing struggle, Sharlie has continually defied the odds just as her sister did before her. At the age of 10, Lexi’s lungs began to fail due to the disease, and an oxygen tank became part of her daily attire. Sharlie admired the way her sister handled the situation with humor by dressing her oxygen tank in her own clothes and naming it “Freddie.”

Bravely facing her circumstance throughout her entire life, Lexi lived for many years longer than doctors had prognosticated. However, at the age of 15, her body rejected a double-lung transplant, and she passed on. Sharlie says Lexi lives on as a miracle to her as she battles cystic fibrosis, especially during a particularly difficult time when she felt like giving up. Because of Lexi, Sharlie says she has resolved to fight for life.

Another person Sharlie counts as a miracle in her life is her husband Ryan, who she says has given her hope as they’ve joined together to overcome the trials that come with cystic fibrosis. Before they were married, Sharlie had doubts that she could be the wife she wanted to be given her condition as well as a doctor’s diagnosis that she too would need a lung transplant. Her husband has served as a faithful companion in embracing this part of Sharlie’s life and in meticulously taking on the battle with her.

Sharlie’s final miracle is her son Harrison. All her life, her doctors have counseled her never to get pregnant because the risks were too great. When she and Ryan became pregnant, doctors advised her to abort the baby. United in faith, the two decided to see the pregnancy through and gave birth to a healthy son in February of 2007. While doctors told her she’d never recover from childbirth, Sharlie says she has actually become healthier in the three years since Harrison was born.

“Some people might say I believe in miracles because I’ve experienced them,” Sharlie concluded. “But, I would say the opposite is true: I’ve experienced miracles because I believe in them.”

Our next regional meeting will be in Indianapolis on Saturday, March 13, 2010. Click here to register today. You can also become a fan of MonaVie on Facebook and follow MonaVie on Twitter to receive more updates and information on upcoming MonaVie events.
