Bart Gillespie Wins Utah Cyclocross Series Race

[Ogden, Utah] – October 18, 2008 – MonaVie-Cannondale bicyclist Bart Gillespie won the Men’s A division in the third race of the 2008 Utah Cyclocross Series in Ogden, Utah, on Saturday, October 18.

Gillespie is gunning for his sixth consecutive Utah Cyclocross Series championship dating back to 2003. The annual UCS consists of 10 or more races in which competitors accumulate points based on where they finish in each race.

In cyclocross racing, bicyclists must complete several laps on short courses that feature different types of terrain as well as obstacles that require riders to quickly dismount and carry their bikes. The photo shows Gillespie effortlessly bunny hopping one of these natural barriers.

MonaVie-Cannondale Four-Man Relay Finishes First in Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab

[Deseret News]—October 13, 2008—The MonaVie-Cannondale four-man relay team of Bart Gillespie, Bryan Alders, Ben Sonntag, and Alex Grant took first place in the Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab race in Moab, Utah. The squad completed the most laps overall (21 laps), covering the equivalent of just over 313 miles. Finishing third overall with 19 laps completed was another MonaVie-Cannondale crew—Matt Ohran, Shannon Boffeli,Hienrick Dieters, and Isaac Wilson.

Tinker Juarez placed second in the Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab solo division race, in a grueling competition covering 15 miles of rugged terrain. The 14th annual Suzuki 24 Hours of Moab race drew teams from all over the world, including 5,000 racers, support crews, and spectators.

October Ruby Fly-In Recap

Distributors gathered at the Zermatt Resort & Spa in Midway, Utah, for the final Ruby Fly-In of the year, October 1–4. As with every Ruby Fly-In, distributors heard from a variety of corporate representatives, including Vice President of Product Management Jeff Graham, who provided information on new MonaVie Pulse.

Newly appointed Vice President of Human Resources and Distributor Services Steven King reported that MonaVie sales agents are responding quicker than ever to the more than 20,000 phone calls from distributors each week, thanks to the recent implementation of a new distributor support strategy.

Following the implementation of the new strategy, MonaVie Distributor Support has improved its response rate, answering distributor calls without putting them on hold 70 percent of the time. Part of the new initiative also calls for the cross-training of sales agents, so distributor calls are transferred less frequently. In other words, agents will know how to address your concerns right away. A recent study conducted by Distributor Support found that calls were transferred only five percent of the time, a considerable improvement over previous months.

According to King, improvements are also being made to the Black Diamond and Ruby Executive support lines to increase distributor satisfaction. "Agents working with our Ruby and Black Diamond Executives are not under the same time restraints," says King. "It's not about quick phone calls; it's about building your business."

Agents are rewarded for taking the time to effectively meet the needs of executives, making a 40-minute telephone call, when necessary, more valuable than a two-minute call. Expect to see noticeable changes the next time you call Distributor Support.

MonaVie congratulates all those distributors who earned a spot at one of our Ruby Fly-In events in 2008. The next Ruby Fly-In retreat will be February 4-7, 2009.
