When I was a young boy, probably 13 or 14, I became convinced, through a friend, that if I invested $100 in some US Bonds as part of a "get rich quick" program spreading through my hometown, that I would make $10,000 over the next 30 days by placing my name on the bottom of a list. Daily, as others got involved, my name would be moved up the list and, within four short weeks, I would begin receiving checks in the Larsen family mailbox in Rexburg, Idaho. I was so excited!
