After Indy Japan 300, Scheckter Prepares for IndyCar Series Championship
Driving the No. 23 MonaVie EMV car, Tomas Scheckter finished in 23rd place at the Indy Japan 300. In standard Scheckter form, Tomas jumped two positions in the early going to grab the eight spot after the first lap. He would continue on pace until pulling in for an unscheduled pit stop on lap 88. His crew discovered an internal problem with the car's gearbox, which prematurely ended his day.
"We were running solidly in the top eight, having a good race," Scheckter said. "It's very unfortunate, but that's racing and these things happen. I just have to thank the guys for giving me a good car and everyone with MonaVie Japan for coming out and supporting me. I'm really looking forward to getting this MonaVie car in the top five in Miami."
Tomas Scheckter and the MonaVie EMV car complete the IndyCar Series season Saturday, October 10, at the IndyCar Series Championship at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. Be sure to tune in to VERSUS at 4 p.m. (EST) to see all the action.
