'Tis the Season. 'Tis the Opportunity.

We hope you are having both a happy and productive start to the holiday season. If you're toying with the idea of taking your foot off of the MonaVie sales gas pedal and coasting for the rest of the year, think again! Impressive early holiday season sales indicate there’s a buying spree in progress and you’ve got the opportunity to get in on this big uptick in consumer spending.

Reports abound that retail sales for the first four days of the holiday season were up by 8.7%. Cyber Monday saw a whopping 22% growth in spending. And especially encouraging is a story in the December 1 edition of USA TODAY that indicated a nice bump in credit card spending—better still is this same story cited a long-range projection that credit card usage will increase by 63% from now through 2016.

These positive holiday stats point to one piece of good news: Americans are more than ready to open up and keep spending—not tomorrow, not next week, not next year, but right now. So put your foot down on your MonaVie selling accelerator. Make sure you pass this wonderful holiday news to your downline, and that everyone pays it forward for the happiest, healthiest, and wealthiest holiday season and beyond!

Survive or Thrive: The Acai Berry--Deserted Island Option or Everyday Essential?

You’re stranded on a deserted island.
If you could have just one food with you, what would it be?

There might be a new answer for this age-old question. Having gained a reputation as one of the world’s top superfoods and boasting a complete complement of nutrients, the acai berry is not just a wise choice for “What if?” scenarios.

For centuries, the people of the Amazon have revered the acai berry for its nutritional properties. Their tribal healers used acai to promote health and longevity, and their warriors consumed it as a source of strength, energy, and vitality. Today, the remarkable health benefits of acai have been studied by modern science. And because of its unparalleled antioxidant levels and superior nutrient content, acai is now being cited as a highly beneficial addition to a healthy diet and exercise regimen.

Among the beneficial nutrients in the acai berry are antioxidants and phytonutrients.

  • Antioxidants are an invaluable tool in the fight against free radical damage, which is so pervasive in today’s world where pollution, sun exposure, and convenience foods are prolific offenders. Free radicals can cause cell damage, which can lead to a variety of health issues. Antioxidants work to neutralize free radicals, thereby reducing their damaging effects on the body.
  • Phytonutrients, also known as phytochemicals, are the compounds found in fruits that give them their color (pigmentation). Their role in nature is to protect a plant’s tissues, fruits, and seeds from invasion by microorganisms, such as viruses, bacteria, and fungi. When we eat fruits, the protective properties of their phytonutrients are conferred to us, thus promoting good health. One important class of phytonutrients is anthocyanins, which have received considerable attention for their ability to decrease health risks associated with aging. Boasting an anthocyanin level of up to 20 times that of red wine, the acai berry appears to be unmatched in the world of fruits.

Increasing your daily intake of a variety of fruits high in antioxidants and phytonutrients is one of the best ways to protect your long-term health. The acai berry is also rich in many other nutrients, including essential fatty acids, vitamins and minerals, dietary fiber, amino acids, and complex carbohydrates. Few foods can lay claim to the nutritional properties of this remarkable berry.

And while it’s unlikely that you will ever be stranded on a deserted island, it’s worth including in your daily diet those foods deemed among the best—foods that will help you look and feel your best. The acai berry from the Amazon rainforest certainly qualifies as one of these foods. Teeming with exotic wildlife and pristine plant life, it’s as if the Amazon rainforest is making a statement—by offering to the world a summary of all its rich goodness—in the form of the acai berry.

Acai is a welcome discovery at a time when most of us are seeking not merely to survive, but to thrive. Now more than ever, people are stepping up to accept responsibility for the foods they ingest. Why not be one of them? Choose to include “deserted island foods” in your daily diet, and make a positive contribution to your healthy and active lifestyle.

Succeeding at Two Jobs: Organize, Organize, Organize!

Many current MonaVie distributors and potential distributors hold down more than one job. Add in family responsibilities and time becomes a precious commodity. So, how can you make it all work, and succeed in all areas of your life?

We found a great article in USA TODAY, penned by Michael Crom, Executive Vice President of Dale Carnegie Training, that focuses on this very subject. The bottom line is: organize, organize, organize! Easy to say; much more difficult to execute. But here are some wonderful tips from the article:

Acquire efficient work habits
Set aside a small amount of time to organize what must be done. This process will give you a more positive attitude, and you will feel a lot less overwhelmed. Make sure that you are comfortable in the routine that you have created.  If you are not happy with your current routine, then change it. You'll be glad you did.

Gain control over your time
You must maintain a daily planner. This can be either in electronic form on your computer, tablet or smartphone, or on paper. This is critical to ensure that you're on top of all of the details regarding both of your jobs. The time you spend planning and setting your priorities will reduce the time needed to execute—and to succeed!

Reduce stress by writing lists
Use your daily planner as the central location for all “To Do” lists, notes, ideas and the like. As you move through your list, take a linear approach to execution—meaning focus upon one task before moving to another. You are already multi-tasking with two jobs. Multi-tasking within multi-tasking will only create unproductive stress.

Attitude adjustment
Succeeding in one job is stressful enough. You've chosen to tackle two jobs! Stay calm. Avoid overreacting or panicky decision-making. Take charge of the very dynamic situation that you have opted for with an "I can do it" attitude!

Whether you're working with MonaVie as your second job, considering joining the MonaVie team to generate additional income or you are committed as a full-time MonaVie distributor, MonaVie is committed to helping you with everything you need to create A More Meaningful Life.

MonaVie Nears 100,000 Facebook Fans: Thank You!

In the very near future, MonaVie will eclipse 100,000 Fans on Facebook. And we have you to thank for getting us to this most significant milestone. Better yet, we believe that this is only the beginning of a beautiful friendship between us on Facebook.

There’s a lot of research about why people commit to “liking” a Facebook page. All studies point to one top factor: Fans get something in return—whether it’s real-time updates and information, special promotions, or anything in between.

Michael Crom, vice president of Dale Carnegie Training, wrote an article in USA Today that contains some great tips about how a company can increase and improve engagement with its Fans. The same rules apply to you and your own individual Facebook page, especially as it pertains to your MonaVie business. Here are the highlights:

  • Don’t just post and dash.
    • Listen and respond to feedback from your posts.
    • Thank people for responding. They’ll want to contribute more, and these added responses will help your site become more visible in Google search results.
  • Be positive and productive.
    • Avoid the “3 Deadly Cs” of Facebook posting: Criticizing, Condemning and Complaining.
  • Don’t just rote promote, create a real community!
    • Make your Facebook friends an integral part of what you do. Build an environment where they can not only react to you—but also interact with one another.

As of this writing, MonaVie has 98,204 Facebook Fans. You’ve gotten us this far, so we’re asking you to help us reach 100,000 by sharing our page with your friends!

And what will we do for you in return? We promise to provide you and yours with real-time information and updates so that you can continue your ongoing conversation with MonaVie—whenever it’s convenient for you.

4 Tips to MonaVie-ize Your Black Friday

This week many of us will be inundated with coupons, email, Facebook posts and commercials featuring the latest and greatest deals for Black Friday—the biggest shopping day of the year!

Everyone enjoys a good deal, and no matter what your level of engagement is, here are four tips to make sure your Black Friday shopping experience is a MonaVie experience!

Tip #1 Have a plan!

Devising a store strategy with family and friends is wise so that you can find more deals in a shorter amount of time. I would suggest a pre–Black Friday meeting, complete with a review of the stores (btw…blueprints would be great). Establish a list of roles and responsibilities, test your walkie talkies and—of course—check to see if any of the stores you’ll visit are part of new MonaVie Perks Retail Rewards!

Tip #2 Bring something to eat.

Leftover turkey sandwiches covered in gravy are always a popular item, albeit extremely messy (and -2 points on creativity). Why not pack a few convenient and delicious MonaVie RVL Nutrition Snack Bars? They’re small, compact and easy to share.

Tip #3 Prepare to be cold!

Waiting in line outside for a store to open in November may not be the warmest! Check the weather forecast before you go, bundle up, throw on a MonaVie RVL Hoodie and you’re good to go!

Tip #4 Bring friends and make friends!

Some people camp out at stores for days, some for hours. What does this mean? It means there are a lot of people in one place, with no place to go and money to spend! Make good use of the time by bringing friends and talk to those around you; bring your MonaVie business cards.

You’re also likely to encounter a sneeze or two when out and about. What a perfect time to share a MonaVie (M)mūn shot! Thirsty and lethargic from an overdose of tryptophan? Here’s a MonaVie EMV in your hand! Hungry, anyone? Post turkey day is a great time to tell others about MonaVie RVLution

Before you know it, you’ll be hosting a Black Friday tasting party while waiting in line!

So, what are your plans for Black Friday?

5 Reasons You Should Catch the MonaVie 2.0 Momentum!

MonaVie recently issued a press release announcing the MonaVie 2.0 event in Dallas, Texas, this January, and it contained some compelling quotes from our leadership.

MonaVie Founder and CEO Dallin Larsen said, “The Dallas event will rock our company and this industry, will build upon the company’s previously unprecedented success and take MonaVie to a whole new level of significance.”

Jeff Cohen, MonaVie chief marketing officer, said that in today’s economic climate, in which Gallup Chairman Jim Clifton estimates that more than one billion people are either unemployed or underemployed, the launch of MonaVie 2.0 couldn’t come at a more opportune time. “MonaVie 2.0 will provide an exciting opportunity for the millions of people who are seeking a way to either replace or supplement their income,” said Cohen.  “The product innovations we are announcing, along with our universal distributor training solution, MVP, will offer individuals across the globe a whole new opportunity to change their lives—whether they’re already a MonaVie distributor or someone who is currently looking for a path to A More Meaningful Life.”

MonaVie 2.0 is not just an event, it is the “next generation” of MonaVie—and it all starts with you on January 13!

5 Reasons You Should Attend the MonaVie 2.0 Launch:

MVP will offer access to localized business tools, reliable and ongoing communications, corporate and distributor sponsored events, personal and professional development opportunities, promotional and branded premium items, and more—all designed to facilitate distributor success at any level. MVP will help new distributors start out right and then continue to achieve success all along the way, as they seek to achieve their personal business goals.”
  2. MonaVie RVLution —the biggest promotion in the industry with one million dollars in prizes for participants, easier enrollment, great products and much, much more!  After attending MonaVie 2.0, you and your friends will want to join MonaVie’s weight loss RVLution.
  3. New MonaVie Products – At MonaVie 2.0, you will discover a revolutionary new approach to MonaVie’s product line, and you’ll be among the first to see and experience it. It will be AMAZING, and it will change your business!
  4. New MonaVie Website – A newly designed MonaVie website will be unveiled, incorporating MVP and a fresh new look at MonaVie products. And, of course, all the great content and success stories you’re accustomed to seeing at MonaVie.com.
  5. The Experience – Ask anyone who has attended a MonaVie convention or tour event, and they will most likely smile from ear-to-ear.  That’s because these events are informative, motivating and a great way to truly experience MonaVie. MonaVie 2.0 will be all of this and more, including an array of great speakers and presentations—all designed to help you kick off your New Year right!

Jeff Cohen summed it up best: “If you think MonaVie’s first act was groundbreaking, come join us in Dallas for what promises to be an historic event.”

How Are You Creating Experiences?

Not all experiences are created equal. The majority of experiences we have in the course of a week or month are soon forgotten and do little to change the course of our lives. But when you think about it, the experiences that have had the power to touch, change or move you, and remain forever etched in your mind, have a common thread. Usually, it’s because someone you love, trust or admire shares something with you that has personally affected them or motivated them to change their life.

The Importance of Creating an Experience

Isn’t that the reason that the Community CommerceSM business model is so powerful? As discussed in a recent blog, this model is successful because it’s based on building relationships within the communities to which we belong and then creating experiences within those relationships that move people to seek a more meaningful life. Many of today’s business leaders are just now beginning to discover what many MonaVie distributors already know—it’s about the experience!

When Southwest Airlines goes out of its way to please a customer, they know that by providing one customer a great experience, that customer has the potential to become a brand ambassador and share experiences that can shape the opinions of others. This is why they have a dedicated team of representatives listening on social media channels, handling complaints, informing their communities about inclement weather and offering discounts on flights. The team’s goal is to create memorable experiences that result in loyalty and repeat business. It’s all about the customer experience.

Successful distributors know that they must do much more than merely contact someone. New customers and distributors are created when individuals have positive, personal experiences at a friend’s tasting party or at a MonaVie-sponsored event. Our whole goal for corporate events like MonaVie 2.0, I Am MonaVie Tour or MonaVie Convention, is to create a memorable experience that moves attendees to action and ultimately to make changes that will improve the quality of their life.

How Are You Creating Experiences?

With the advent of social media channels, communication has never been so convenient. You can text, post on Facebook, tweet on Twitter, email and maybe even make an actual call on the phone! But is convenience somehow replacing experiences? When you reach out to those you want to share MonaVie with, how are you creating experiences?

I want to know!

Share with me the best ways you have shared MonaVie with others by leaving a comment below.

What I “Need” for Christmas

Sponsor a Child with the MORE Project

Each year during the holidays, I look forward to when The MORE Project places its Christmas tree in the lobby of MonaVie Corporate. The ornaments on the tree consist of a picture of a child from Brazil with some basic information about who they are and what they would want or need for Christmas.

Last year I chose an ornament that featured a boy who appeared to be somewhere between the ages of my own two boys, hoping they would identify with him. Before placing the ornament on our own Christmas tree that night, I asked my kids to give him a name. They chose the name “Bartokamos,” and we spent the balance of the evening talking about how our relatively small contribution would provide Bartokamos with food, clothing, and a gift that holiday season.

Over the years, as we’ve continued this tradition, I’ve come to realize what I—and what my family—really need for Christmas…and that is an opportunity to serve others in a meaningful way. I can’t think of a more worthy cause than The MORE Project, so when I heard about their goal to sponsor 100 children by the end of the year (watch video), I wanted to share my experience with you.

If you are blessed with surplus this year—or even if you have to make a few sacrifices—I encourage you to sponsor a child through The MORE Project. I assure you there are many children just like Bartokamos who are counting on your generosity. For more information, click here.

If you’d like to share your experiences with The MORE Project Sponsor a Child program, or similar experience, leave a comment below.

Powerful People are Embracing People Power as Key to Economic Recovery

MonaVie firmly believes that community commerceSM is the key to creating new jobs and strengthening the world economy. That’s because MonaVie’s powerful business model utilizes the marketing power of people who are entrepreneurs, just like you.

Now, it appears that notable people are stepping forward and embracing this very notion. In a recent interview with a CBS Philadelphia affiliate TV station, CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley remarked about the surprising growth of the American economy during the 3rd quarter of 2011, more than doubling in rate from 1.2% to 2.5% over the previous two quarters:

"Washington had gridlocked over the deficit problem. Wall Street had panicked and what happened? The rest of the country just went out and grew the economy. So I am beginning to think that the center of the universe here in America is not in Washington or on Wall Street, but it's out there with everybody else..."

Steve Strauss, USA Today's small business expert, has also written strong words reinforcing the role of community commerce leaders in today's economy: "Only entrepreneurs can save the world. Why? Because entrepreneurs go where governments fear to tread...they actually care about making a difference."

As the No. 1 opportunity in community commerce, we want to help you, and every entrepreneur just like you, to better understand what a great opportunity MonaVie represents for people everywhere, as we all pursue "A More Meaningful Life."

The Amazing Power of Community Commerce℠

During the past eight months since I started working at MonaVie, I have been amazed—and I’m not easily amazed.

In my past, I had the good fortune to work on infomercials for cable television, and I’ve had the opportunity to work on product development for a few direct sales companies. As a result, I had a healthy respect for the power of direct sales and personal marketing. But it wasn’t until I began working at MonaVie and started seeing the personal impact that MonaVie’s Community Commerce business model has on people’s lives that I gained a true appreciation for the beauty and power of what we offer. What I’ve learned as I’ve watched successful distributors at work is that community commerce is all about building relationships within the communities to which you belong and then recommending the products that you believe in to the people with whom you interact. No one does this better or in a more genuine way than MonaVie distributors. During the past few months as I have traveled extensively to meet with distributors across the vast MonaVie network, I have seen how our remarkable products have brought hope and renewed health to hundreds of thousands of people. Equally as moving are the stories of how MonaVie’s business opportunity has saved homes, cars and families struggling to survive one of the worst economic downturns since the Great Depression.

As many of you have shared your incredible stories of success with me, I have felt humbled, honored and amazed to be part of a company that is changing the lives of people from every walk of life. And I have felt even more motivation to make sure that what we are doing to create MonaVie 2.0—our strategy to take our company to the next phase of success and significance—will offer everyone involved the opportunity to achieve an even more meaningful life.

If you’re not already planning to join us in Dallas on January 13–14, please mark your calendar and click here to register for this historic meeting. You won’t want to miss the opportunity to be in attendance where we are set to reveal a whole new MonaVie to the world.

In the meantime, if you need inspiration to remember why you do what you do, visit the MonaVie Media Center to view “100 Testimonials in 100 Days”—firsthand accounts of distributors’ stories that will move and motivate you.

After you take a look, let me know what you think by leaving a comment below. If you’re like me, I think you will be amazed.

Sincerely,

Jeff Cohen
Chief Marketing Officer
