Our Fat Pets (and what we can learn from them)

You might be asking yourself what fat cats and stressed rats have to do with you? Studies show us quite clearly that being overweight and having excess body fat is detrimental to long-term health, and also show us that typical “fast food” type diets can be both highly addictive (the dopamine data) and extremely “stressful” to break away from (the corticotropin data).

In today’s world where we’re surrounded by both stress and fast food, a big part of the “solution” to managing body weight is to eat meals that (1) taste good, (2) help balance metabolism and blood sugar, and (3) do not feel restrictive like a diet. The MonaVie RVL products have an excellent balance of protein, fats, and carbohydrates that not only taste delicious, but also help keep you satisfied longer.

Joint Flexibility for a More Active Lifestyle

For many people in the nutrition industry, the simple mention of the term “joint health” conjures up images of the “tried and true” dietary supplement, glucosamine. Numerous research studies show the ability of glucosamine supplements to help rebuild and repair joint cartilage to keep joints healthy and flexible. If you’re a consumer of MonaVie Active juice or MonaVie MX juice, then you’re already familiar with the plant-derived form of glucosamine (not from shellfish, like most glucosamine supplements) that MonaVie uses in both products.

What you might not be familiar with, however, is that having a healthy “joint” is a lot more than just healthy cartilage. Joints are actually complex systems involving bones, ligaments, tendons, and blood vessels—and all of these structures need to be maintained in a state of healthy turnover (balance between buildup/breakdown) if we want to stay mobile and flexible as we age.

Stronger Economy. Stronger MonaVie Opportunity.

We have good news and even better news as we approach the end of the first quarter of 2012. The good news: According to a fresh Associated Press survey of leading economic experts, the U.S. economy is improving faster than anticipated. And because of this apparent acceleration in our economic recovery, projections moving forward are reflecting this increased speed. It is now projected that the unemployment rate will fall from its current 8.3% to 8% by Election Day—that’s down from a last December–projected 8.4%. Better yet, by late 2013 the jobless rate is now projected to be at 7.4%, well below the previous estimate of 7.8%. According to USA Today, accompanying these optimistic, new projections are surges in industrial output during both December 2011 and January 2012, leading to a new and higher calculated growth rate of 2.5% this year.

Proper Nutrition and Hydration Key to Optimal Body Function

Hi, this is Shawn Talbott, the new VP of Research & Development here at MonaVie.

In my first MonaVie blog post, I wanted to share some of my comments that appear in this month’s issue of Women’s Health magazine (March 2012). In the article, A Better Body? No Sweat! I comment about the importance of adequate water intake to avoid dehydration. Why? Because being dehydrated can substantially slow your metabolic rate and may impact your ability to burn as many calories as possible.

Rules: In the Game of Basketball and the Game of Life

Without knowing the rules to the game, would you really be playing basketball if someone told you simply to: “put the ball through the hoop”?

In basketball—and in life—rules not only provide the structure necessary for a fair and equitable playing field, but they can also give each participant his or her best chance to succeed and have fun.

The same is true for the MVP distributor training system. MonaVie has developed a Code of Ethics that outlines the “unspoken” rules of the game and creates a culture of mutual respect that will bolster your business and enhance the opportunity for all.

Forget Networking. How to Be a Connector!

After hearing master networker Keith Ferrazzi speak at MonaVie 2.0 in Dallas, I began reading his book Never Eat Alone. And since then, I’ve given a lot of thought to the topic of networking and building relationships.

So, when I came across this article by Alina Tugend on Entrepreneur.com entitled, Forget Networking. How to Be a Connector, I just had to share. See if you know someone that fits this description of a “connector,” as described in the article...

Ditch the Diet…Join the RVLution! (An Almost “Peanuts” Worthy–Cartoon)

I love this little cartoon, but feel you should hear the rest of the story. So, I’ve taken the liberty of extending the narrative in this “almost Peanuts–worthy” cartoon.

Lucy: Don’t step on it…It makes you cry.
Sally: But I want to go on another yo-yo diet.
Lucy: You should ditch the diet, and join the MonaVie RVLution. You need to become a RVLutionary!
Sally: I need to become a what?
Lucy: A “RVLutionary.” It means that you are joining the MonaVie RVLution.
Sally: And what does that mean?
Lucy: It’s a 90-day challenge with MonaVie and Mark Macdonald to help you achieve your health-related goals—losing weight, getting fit, increasing metabolism, building lean muscle mass.
Sally: Who is Mark Macdonald?
Lucy: He is the NY Times bestselling author of Body Confidence, as well as the MonaVie RVL spokesperson.
Sally: So, he can help me diet?
Lucy: Not a diet. He wants you to look and feel your best. He’s got this whole comprehensive program!
Sally: Where can I learn more?
Lucy: You can learn more and sign up for the RVLution at www.monavie.com/rvlution.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr., Day!

“Martin Luther King made it so everyone can play together.” —My 5-year-old

Last night I asked my five-year-old son what Martin Luther King, Jr., Day was all about, to see what his awareness level was. He replied, “Martin Luther King made it so everyone can play together.” Truly a “from the mouth of babes” moment.

If You Could Put Time in a Bottle

The Great Recession. Sure, it's taken its toll in dollars, but it has also put a big squeeze on our work schedules and personal time.

A recent survey in USA TODAY found that 55% of Americans feel that, during the recession, their workloads have significantly or somewhat increased.

A second USA TODAY survey posed the question, "Has the recession negatively affected your work-life balance?" 55% of respondents said, "Yes."

Truly, for many, time keeps slipping, slipping, slipping away, and the complete absence of personal time has become their mortal enemy.

We are convinced that the ability to set our own goals—and the ability to manage the time to pursue those goals—are two of the most powerful advantages of being a MonaVie distributor. So, as you talk to potential new MonaVie distributors, don't forget about one of our most valued commodities—time.  Let them know that, by joining MonaVie, they can, indeed, "put time in a bottle."

Whether you’re working with MonaVie on a part-time basis, as a full-time distributor, or are considering joining the MonaVie team to generate additional income, MonaVie is committed to helping you create A More Meaningful Life.
