The future of the Amazon Rainforest

For many years, the Amazon Rainforest has undergone tremendous destruction at an alarming rate. Like many of the botanical species of the region, the açaI palm has been harvested in a devastating manner. These trees are destroyed illegally and only for its "heart of palm," more commonly known as the "palmito." This type of harvesting destroys the rainforest as well as opportunities for lasting economic benefits.

By partnering with MonaVie, the locals now practice a sustainable harvest, promoting the growth of the economy in the region. The açai palm provides fruit two times a year; however; açai can be harvested year round, generating a continuous income for local workers as well as supporting the preservation of the Amazon Rainforest. In this way, MonaVie improves innumerable lives.
