MonaVie employs açai harvesters native to the Amazon region and partners with the most professional fruit suppliers. MonaVie does not own the land or factories in which the fruits are processed, providing these opportunities to locals as a means to support their communities.



Selecting the ingredients

One of the main differentiators between MonaVie Original and other juices is the use of açai purees (concentrate) with freeze-dried açai. This process drastically inhibits the loss of the fruit's nutritional properties in comparison to the traditional process of dehydration by heat. Many companies use only the juice from açai, which is produced by filtering the pulp and the natural fat. MonaVie, however, uses the highest quality açai purees and freeze-dried açai. This assures that optimum açai arrives in our factory in Brazil, where this delicious premium drink is produced.




The açai

During processing, our açai undergoes a complete hygienic cleansing and is transformed into purees. Additionally, a portion of these purees go through a freeze-drying process. The other 18 fruits are added to the açai in the form of purees and juices. Açai is an extremely perishable fruit; therefore, it has to be processed within 24 hours.




Technology

MonaVie Original utilizes a flash pasteurization process. In this advanced procedure, the formula is quickly heated, bottled, and cooled, capturing the flavors and vibrant colors of the mixture of fruits. This type of pasteurization is superior to the kettle type pasteurization (more common process used by many companies). Heating the formula for long periods of time can inadvertently cook out essential nutrients. Flash pasteurization gives MonaVie the capability to produce millions of bottles of MonaVie Original of the highest quality.
